Welcome from the Headteacher

WELCOME TO ELSENHAM CHURCH OF ENGLAND PRIMARY SCHOOL

Everyone is someone in our church school community,

Becoming learners for life,

Ready to make a difference.

'so encourage each other and build each other up'

1 Thessalonians 5:11

Supported by our core Christian Values- Love, Hope, Faith, Wisdom, Kindness

Everybody is somebody at Elsenham C. of E. Primary School, making it a happy place for children to learn and for staff to work. I am proud to be the Headteacher of a dedicated team who put the children at the heart of everything we do.

At Elsenham C. of E. Primary school, our vision for all, is to flourish in an inclusive community, where everyone’s uniqueness is valued. We strive to provide a rich learning journey, focussed on achieving high standards, both personally and academically. Learners will be equipped with the skills to become resilient individuals, ready for an ambitious future. Consequently our children flourish, academically, socially and personally, with a clear understanding of Christian values.

We are committed to delivering the highest standards of teaching and learning and consistently achieve standards that are above national in reading, writing and mathematics at the end of Key Stage 2.

We are about much more than academic outcomes however, and seek to develop the whole child as resilient, creative thinking, confident and proud individuals. We value the pupils' voice and ensure that they are heard, with a very proactive schools council, Eco Council and Worship Council. We also provide opportunities for the children to express themselves through drama and music, producing fabulous Key Stage performances at various points throughout the year.

Our aim is that all children can one day 'make a difference' to the world in which we live and to the lives of others - however big or small that difference may be.

We are a popular school located in a growing Essex village. We are at the heart of the community with our school hall doubling as the village hall, and we benefit from close links to our church. Our traditional Victorian frontage has been developed to include a new, modern extension with large bright classrooms, a food technology room, studio, library and sensory room as well as a variety of outdoor learning spaces and a large school field.

We have an extensive clubs offer and also offer wrap around care on site with a breakfast club and after school childcare, run by 'Butterflies'.

Come and see our lovely school for yourself. Prospective parents are very welcome to book a chat and a tour with the Headteacher by contacting the school office.
